2018 Super Bowl Ad: Pizza Hut Is Giving Out Free Pies

Pizza Hut is having a great season.

Not only are shares of Yum! Brands (YUM) , the parent of Pizza Hut (as well as KFC and Taco Bell), up 32% over the last year and near an all-time high, the company is offering a free pizza this Super Bowl.

Here's how: All-Pro football player Devin Hester scored a touchdown in the 14 seconds of the 2007 Super Bowl.  If anyone breaks that record during the upcoming 52nd Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles, Pizza Hut will deposit a free medium two-topping pizza into the accounts of Hut Reward members.  Members can redeem that freebie any time between Thursday, February 8 and Sunday, February 11. (Rewards members need to be registered before kickoff to be eligible.)

the Pizza sector is sizzling. While YUM is up about 5% this year, competitors like Papa John's (PZZA) and Domino's (DPZ) both are up about 16% year-to-date.

Even better, "Your pizzas will probably be delivered by autonomous cars soon," says Dominos CEO. Nice! Read more here.

And watch the Pizza Hut's reward challenge in the video above.
