Canada Goose Holdings Inc. (GOOS) , the maker of that coat, actually is thrilled they do. The stock is up almost 19% over the last year.
Outdoor apparel is booming these days. While fashion apparel sales overall are down 4% in the U.S., the outdoor apparell sector is up 2%, according to data from marketing firm NPD Group.
Sports outerwear, in particular, grew by 3.2% between November 2016 and November 2017. And while privately-held Patagonia still is the sales leader, companies like Canada Goose; North Face, owned by VF Corp. (VFC) and Columbia Sportswear Co. (COLM) are reaping the benefits.
