When you think of luxury on the Cape, the off-season doesn't immediately spring to mind. But it's the shoulder season when the crowds are thinnest and you can get the best hotel rooms at the lowest rate.
According to the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, the national seashore saw 1,003,740 visits at its in peak in August of 2016, which sharply dropped to 554,245 in September, 351,234 in October and 198,476 in November of 2016.
Which explains why luxury destinations like Wequassett Resort and Golf Club prices drop from $3125 to $1250, or $1650 to $495 in the off-season.
Fall activities at the Cape include whale watching, seal spotting, and beach plum picking. It's not too late to plan a trip!
