Bridgestone Golf CEO: Tiger Woods' Comeback Is Really Beneficial
Bridgestone Golf has one big reason to be excited about the 2018 PGA Tour season. It may include the long-awaited return to greatness for Tiger Woods, a Bridgestone Golf spokesperson.
Bridgestone Golf president and CEO Angel Ilagan still thinks Tiger Woods has some marketing juice left in him.
"Tiger coming back is really beneficial for us," Ilagan told TheStreet ahead of Woods' long-awaited return at this week's Hero World Challenge after extensive back surgery. "But frankly, he benefits us because of his endorsement value -- he is one of the few celebrity athletes out there whose endorsement matters and in golf, he is probably the only one who makes a difference."
Despite the president's promise of no stimulus until after Nov. 3, there are no signs yet that this is the sort of correlated selling that leads to a deep correction.
