What an Amazon Exec Learned From Her Time at Starbucks
We talked with Amazon Handmade's worldwide head of marketing about the introduction of the new site, her time at Starbucks and what it's like to launch a new division at a behemoth like Amazon.
Just in time for the holidays, Amazon (AMZN) launched the Handmade Gift Shop and we sat down with Katie Harnetiaux, its worldwide head of marketing to talk about how the idea germinated and some of the fun products on the site. More importantly, the site is supporting artisans who are mostly women. (And we at #AlphaRising love that!)
Even better, Harnetiaux, a former Starbucks (SBUX) exec, told us what she learned from her time there and how she was applying it to Amazon Handmade. We also asked her how you launch a new division at a behemoth like Amazon.
