"The biggest problem with women and investing is inertia," says Sallie Krawcheck, CEO and co-founder of Ellevest.
"They are missing out on all that compounding."
Which is so unfortunate because when women do invest, they have a much longer time horizon than men and don't trade as often. That means then generally fare better.
But they have to be in the game to get there.
And that's where Krawcheck comes in.
The Wall Street legend co-founded Ellevest, a digital investment platform geared toward women.
Because we don't just have a gender investing gap, we have a retirement shortfall too. "We live 6-8 years longer than men, reminds Krawcheck. So it's no surprise that "90% of women manage money on their own at some point in their lives."
Plus "we are 80% of nursing home residents," she says.
So it's high-time we do something about all this. Listen in to find out how.
