Guman in Las Vegas Kills 50:
A gunman opened fire at a country music festival in Las Vegas, killing 50 people and injuring 400 according to Las Vegas police. The shots, which lasted several minutes, happened at the end of the concert while Jason Aldean was performing. Reports say police confronted the gunman on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel and killed him. He has been identified as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, a resident of Mesquite, Nevada.
Catalans Want Out:
Spain is in chaos. Catalans voted to secede from the country. After the vote, the region slipped into violence after the police crackdown. 90% of Catalans voted in favor of independence.
Disney and Altice Reached an Agreement:
Disney (DIS) and Altice (ATC) reached a last minute agreement avoiding a blackout from New York area customers. Negotiations went down to the wire as they hammered out details on terms on carrying Disney-owned channels like ESPN, ABC and Disney kids channels.
