Shortly after KB Home (KBH) CEO Jeffrey Mezger laced into his neighbor, comedian Kathy Griffin, in an expletive-laden tear, Griffin was granted a restraining order, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
The court documents show Griffin and Mezger have had issues in the past. Griffin alleged Mezger has thrown garbage in her yard and blared Johnny Cash songs purposefully in the direction of her home. The restraining order, which was filed late last week, legally keeps Mezger from coming within 100 feet of Griffin and her boyfriend, Randy Bick.
Mezger was recorded berating Griffin and Bick with vulgar language after the two called in a noise complaint to local authorities on Sept. 16. Following the incident, which went viral online, KB Home cut Mezger's CEO bonus by 25%. The company said any future infractions like this one would cost Mezger his job.
As the video recording of the back-and-forth made the rounds on the internet, KB Home stock was largely unaffected. Shares have traded down 0.47% since the start of this month and were rising 0.85% in premarket trading on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
