There are 113 known cannabinoids and more left to discover. These chemical compounds come from cannabis flowers and can relieve symptoms, ranging from pain to seizures. These properties are why medicinal marijuana is becoming increasingly popular to treat a range of ailments.
THC may be the one you are most familiar with because of its association with recreational use. It causes a "high" sensation and stimulates the appetite aka what you may know as the "munchies." Additionally, it relieves pain and nausea. CBG, a non-psychoactive cannabinoid, is anti-inflammatory and induces the production of natural skin moisturizers. CBG has also shown to have neuroprotective properties, meaning it may be able to protect nerve cells against damage, degeneration, or impairment of function. CBD reduces seizures and anxiety without the "high." It also has antipsychotic and anti-oxidant properties. CBC has most of the same properties and CBD but also stimulates bone growth. CBN and CBDL are great sleep aids and acts as a mild sedative.
