Johnson and Johnson's (JNJ) Chief Medical Officer fell in love with science at a very young age, thanks to her parents' bakery (Yes, bakery - listen to the video to find out!)
Thanks to all those years of mixing yeast and flour, CMO Joanne Waldstreicher, M.D., now has oversight across pharmaceuticals, devices and consumer products for safety and regulatory operations.
She also leads a multi-disciplinary committee that reviews and endorses medical, scientific, and regulatory development plans for the pharmaceuticals group.
Most importantly, she also is responsible for medical safety, Asia R&D, epidemiology, adaptive design strategy and pediatrics. (We actually met at the JNJ Baby Center in NYC.)
But it all started in a bakery.
