Ride Sharing Apps - What Are the Differences?

It's not just about getting from point A to point B.
By THESTREET STAFF
Jul 24, 2017 Updated Sep 22, 2017 | 07:29 AM EDT

Ride sharing apps all have the same goal -- to get you where you need to be with the least amount of hassle as possible. With so many ride sharing apps out there, what are the main differences?

Uber just introduced the ability to tip, and you can also see your Uber rating more clearly now. Lyft just introduced Lyft Shuttle which is yes, like a bus. But it's meant to augment public transportation during heavy traffic.

Via is arguably one of the cheapest and unlike other services where you can choose to ride alone, you have to carpool. Gett has the benefit of flat fees and is known to treat their drivers well.

With so many ride sharing options out there, it all comes down to what's best for you and your location.
