More gains in tech pushed the Nasdaq to clock its second day of solid gains. The sector has rebounded from a rough June as bulls returned after a string of selloffs. The countdown to Amazon.com Inc.'s (AMZN) Prime Day kept retailers on edge. Best Buy Co. Inc. (BBY) , The Gap Inc. (GPS) , Dick's Sporting Goods Inc. (DKS) and Guess? Inc. (GES) were sharply lower on worries over the increased competition. Prime Day kicks off tonight. ClubCorp Holdings Inc. (MYCC) rallied after Apollo Global Management (APO) agreed to purchase the golf club company for $1.1 billion. The deal values ClubCorp at a nearly 32% premium to its Friday close. Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. (VRX) rose after announcing that it was on pace to pay down its debt according to long-term plans. The drugmaker recently paid down $811 million in senior secured loans.
