Remember when only a select few owned the elusive and expensive Apple Inc. (AAPL) iPhone? As the iPhone turns 10 and heads into its eighth generation, there's no doubt that it forever changed the smartphone landscape when it combined "a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and a breakthrough Internet communications device into one small and lightweight handheld device."
Now, the massively updated iPhone and its touchscreen competitors from Samsung (SSNLF) and Alphabet (GOOGL) have utterly replaced the flip-phones of yesteryear.
But no revolution is without a few hiccups along the way. Whether handling criticism from former Microsoft (MSFT) CEO Steve Ballmer to infamously slow load times when it came to the New York Times (NYT) to the battle to find a carrier, Steve Jobs and his team certainly faced their fair share of challenges.
