Oil prices are down as investors are skeptical that OPEC can control prices like it once did. Oil is officially in a bear market, trading around $43 a barrel. Some energy analysts predict oil will fall to $40 a barrel soon. Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY) shares are sinking after an earnings miss. The home retailer said sales at its brick and mortar stores were 'soft'. Online sales were a bright spot but it did cite shipping and coupon expenses were higher than expected.
North Korea has made its first public statement since the death of Otto Warmbier. It says his death was a mystery and dismissed accusations that he had died because of torture and beating during his captivity as 'groundless'. The North's foreign ministry spokesman said in the official news agency that Warmbier was a victim of "the policy of strategic patience' of former U.S. President Barack Obama.
