What's old is new again, when your favorite snack cakes are reborn as ice cream. TheStreet's Brian Sozzi and Sarah Solomon got a sneak peek at Hostess' latest innovations, ice cream flavored like Snowballs and Ding Dongs filled with ice cream.
Hostess is on a rebound after falling into bankruptcy and being purchased by Apollo Global Management (APO) .
These new ice cream treats are not available in stores yet, but they are coming. Brian noticed the Ding Dongs had a similar calorie count and sugar content to their snack cake cousins. Both Brian and Sarah agreed that the Snowball ice cream was delicious but bore little similarities to the cakes found on store shelves.
