Here's a look at the top luxury travel trends for 2017.

For those flush with cash, there are several new luxury travel trends and destinations that are heating up for 2017.

According to Robb Report, small-boat crusing is gaining in popularity, with several travel companies offering riverboat cruises. Another trend for this year is foodie vacations to emerging destinations, including places like Peru and Helsinki.

Bruce Wailin, travel editor at Robb Report, said he also sees a new golden age of train travel, the return of off-limits destinations, and more outdoor and active getaway trips.
