Delta Air Lines (DAL) stock was climbing as the airline reported better-than-expected profit and sales numbers. Total revenue of $9.46 billion came in above estimates of $9.4 billion. A decline in passenger unit revenue of 2.7% beat Delta's own guidance of a 3% to 5% drop.
Earnings of 82 cents a share matched analysts' estimates. Last year, Delta posted earnings of $1.18 a share on revenue of $9.5 billion. Over the past 12 months, Delta shares have risen by roughly 10.2%
