The outlook for airline stocks is bright this year, even if oil prices move higher. That's the assessment from David Nelson, chief strategist at Belpointe Asset Management, who said he is a buyer of stocks in the sector. He said the airlines have become much smarter on how to monetize services and the technological advancements of the planes has been helping to make flights more efficient and cost effective. Shares of United Continental (UAL) rose 27% in 2016, topping the increases of Delta Air Lines (DAL) and American (AAL) .
