Trump's Repatriation Plans Could Spur Corporate Bonds in 2017

The corporate bond market could be in for a very big year, thanks to supply and demand -- and President-elect Donald Trump's overseas cash repatriation plan.

The corporate bond market could be in for a very big year, thanks to supply and demand -- and President-elect Donald Trump's repatriation plan for overseas corporate cash, said Matt Brill, portfolio manager with Invesco Core Plus Bond.

Technology giants like Apple (AAPL) , Cisco (CSCO) , Oracle (ORCL) , as well several big pharma names, will borrow less in 2017 compared to 2016 if Trump's tax holiday is enacted. That could boost stock prices too.
