It's an annual event on Wall Street, when one of the best known market watchers comes out with his top 10 economic, financial and political surprises for the New Year. Byron Wien, now with Blackstone Group (BX) , has been releasing his list for 32 years, and politics tops the predictions for 2017. Wien's first predicted surprise is that Donald Trump, uspet over losing the popular vote, vows to win over those who opposed him by 2020 and moves away from his more exteme positions. Wien also expects the U.S. economy will grow 3% and the S&P 500 rises to 2500. Several of Wien's predicted surprises for 2016 did not come true, however. A year ago, he expected Hillary Clinton would win the White House over Ted Cruz, and that the stock market would have a down year.
