Stocks held slight gains through to close after Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen touted the job market's strength. In comments at the University of Baltimore, Yellen said the U.S. is entering its strongest labor market in nearly a decade. U.S.-traded Turkish ETFs declined after the Russian ambassador to Turkey was shot and killed in Ankara. Russia called the assassination an act of terrorism after the shooter reportedly yelled 'Don't forget Syria.' Tensions have been high as the Syrian civil war spills over into Turkey. Boeing (BA) moved slightly higher after announcing plans for further cost cuts next year. The airplane manufacturer said cuts could include voluntary and involuntary layoffs. United Technologies (UTX) was one of the best performers on the Dow after Credit Suisse upgraded to OUTPERFORM from NEUTRAL. The firm said headwinds in the aerospace market should ease by 2018.
