Wall Street scored another trifecta of record closes as a rally in the energy and tech sectors drove gains across benchmark indexes. Energy got a big boost after ExxonMobil's (XOM) CEO Rex Tillerson was nominated as secretary of state in the Trump administration. Casino stocks including Wynn Resorts (WYNN) and Las Vegas Sands (LVS) moved higher as Japan's government neared a vote to legalize gambling. A bill passed a parliamentary panel and will make its way through the upper house on Wednesday. Verifone (PAY) moved higher after a better-than-expected fourth quarter. However, the payment tech company did issue 2017 guidance that fell short of analysts' estimates. Amgen (AMGN) climbed after Oppenheimer initiated coverage with an OUTPERFORM rating and $166 price target. The firm expects revenue to rise nearly 3% each year over half a decade. TheStreet's Keris Lahiff reports from Wall Street.
