For the week of Dec. 12, investors await a key Federal Reserve meeting and quarterly results from a host of major companies. On Wednesday, the Federal Reserve wraps up its December meeting. Most market participants expect the central bank to announce a rate hike, marking the second rate increase since the 2008 recession. Chair Janet Yellen will hold a press conference and the central bank is set to release rate hike projections for 2017. Also on Wednesday, November retail sales are released, which are expected to rise 0.5%, while industrial production figures for November are unveiled. On Thursday, the markets await weekly jobless claims. As for earnings, on Monday, VeriFone (PAY) releases results. On Wednesday, the markets await earnings from Pier 1 Imports (PIR) . On Thursday, investors will be keeping an eye on quarterly earnings from Adobe (ADBE) , Jabil Circuit (JBL) and Oracle (ORCL) . TheStreet's Scott Gamm reports from Wall Street.
