Paul Hammes is the Global Divestiture Advisory Services Leader at EY. He spoke with Rhonda Schaffler at The Deal Economy Event, he broke down the company's Global Corporate Divestment Study from 2016.
One of the big headlines is 49% of the senior executives responded that they are looking to divest over the next two years. Many say they are divesting to fund growth.
Some of the top reasons included investing in their core business, acquiring new products or markets and others say funding acquisition.
Hammes went on to say that 85% of the respondents believe their divestments created long-term value.
