"Quantamental" investing is the marriage between quantitative research and fundamental analysis, and it could be the next big thing in stock picking, said Ryan Caldwell, portfolio manager for the Chiron Capital Allocation Fund.
Caldwell said this hybrid solution is based on solid factor-based research paired with a fundamental thought process.
Caldwell notes that factors individually aren't that interesting or innovative and "it is the way you define, approach and package them that matters." In terms of individual stocks, Caldwell said Las Vegas Sands (LVS) looks strong on a quantamental basis.
