News from the American Petroleum Institute said that crude oil stocks surged by 3.6 million barrels last week. That exceeded analysts' expectations of a 1.5 million barrel rise and it's sending crude oil prices lower. Oil Tuesday made its biggest jump in 7 months as investors grew hopeful that OPEC will cut production in a few weeks. Lowe's ( (LOW) ) missed on both earning and revenue. The home improvement retailer reported 88 cents a share in earnings, when 96 cents was expected. Earlier this year, Lowe's reported a soft second quarter and lowered its guidance for the year. Twitter ( (TWTR) ) has suspended a number of accounts associated with the so-called 'alt right' movement. The move comes the same day the social media service said it would crack down on hate speech. Among those suspended was Richard Spencer, who runs an alt-right think tank and had a verified account on Twitter. The alt-right is a loosely organized group that espouses white nationalism.
