China's gross domestic product numbers came out overnight and they showed the slowest growth in 7 years. The government said China grew at 6.7%. There were signs, however, that the nation is getting its economic footing. Retail sales were steady, housing showed signs of recovery and industrial output was higher than expected. Oil producers are preparing for this weekend's OPEC meeting, which is being billed as the biggest oil meeting in decades. The major oil players will reportedly discuss a possible freeze in oil production to prop up prices. Russia's Energy Minister says he doesn't expect oil prices to change after the meeting, causing some to think there will be no freeze in oil output. The new Chief Executive of AMC Entertainment (AMC) says he's open to letting people text during movies. This is another example of the extreme lengths companies may be willing to go to attract millennials to movie theaters. The CEO says he's trying to figure out how to include texting in the movie experience without upsetting other patrons.
