Amazon's (AMZN) new Texas fulfillment center in San Marcos isn't open yet, but already the company is already advertising for open positions. Eventually more than 1,000 workers will be employed at the 855,000 square foot facility, which San Marcos helped secure through business incentives. It's all part of a push to help expand business opportunities in the Greater San Marcos region, which is one of the fastest growing areas of the U.S. San Marcos, Texas is located between San Antonio and Austin, which is another rapidly growing city. San Marcos Mayor Daniel Guerrero said a few years ago, a new company opening its doors in the city might employ less than one hundred workers. But that's changed, with bigger companies, like Amazon, now setting up shop.
