U.S. stocks opened flat Monday as investors sit on their hands and wait to see what the Federal Reserve will do about interest rates at its meeting later this week. It's a 2 day meeting this time, wrapping up Thursday afternoon. Most market participants believe the Federal Reserve will stay put on interest rates but there are some who think the Fed should and will move now. Google's (GOOG) self-driving car project is getting more ambitious. The search giant has hired an auto industry veteran to oversee Google's self-driving car division with the goal of perhaps mass production. OPEC is trimming its forecast for oil production from non-OPEC nations. It says the slowdown in U.S. shale production will help lead to 110,000 fewer barrels being produced.
