Greece faces a critical 24 hours as European leaders hold an emergency summit in Brussels that could break the deadlock around the country's debt crisis. Greek PM Alexis Tsipras has ruled out pension cuts, higher power rates, and an excessive budget surplus. Concerns are rising that their proposals might not seem to have moved much from their previous position – which proved unacceptable to other euro zone members. Greece is now offering to gradually raise retirement age to 67, and have a 23 percent main sales tax, with lower sales tax for energy, basic goods, medicine and books, according to reports. The retirement age concession is a step forward, as Greek men retire at 63 on average, and Greek women at 59. Williams (WMB) said on Sunday that it had rejected a $48 billion takeover bid from Energy Transfer (ETE) confirmed hours later that it had made the approach. The move highlights what some analysts describe as likely consolidation in the sector of moving oil and gas. Apple (AAPL) says it will pay artists for their music during the free trial for customers less than 24 hours of singer Taylor Swift criticized the company for not doing so.
