The S&P 500 index heads into the trading day at a record high. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and NASDAQ are within 50 points of their all time highs. Microsoft (MSFT) and Apple (AAPL) led a rally in technology shares. The dollar weakened and the bond market stabilized. El Pollo Loco (LOCO) had better than expected results on increased traffic and falling expenses. However, shares plunged 13% after hours after it reaffirmed guidance that was on the low end of expectations. The company's stock spiked nearly 60% in its market debut last July and had jumped 20% since its closing price of $24 a share. Nordstrom (JWN) also posted a strong bump up in sales.
