S&P Capital IQ Analyst Angelo Zino says now that Verizon (VZ) is buying AOL (AOL), he expects other telecom companies to make content partnerships, as consumers shift to using more video. Zino says T-Mobile (TMUS) has an opportunity to join alliances with another company, potentially Dish (DISH) or a cable provider, like a Comcast (CMCSA). He says while that's all speculation right now, T-Mobile could potentially be in play. He expects the AT&T (T) and Direct TV deal will be approved and that it will provide AT&T with new video content to roll out to its customers. He says telecom companies need to look for growth in new areas like content as wireless subscriber growth slows. But he doesn't expect Sprint to make any strategic partnerships while the company remains focused on its turnaround efforts.
