Auction house Christie's announced sales of more than $7.1 billion for 2013 -- that's a 16% rise from the year before and the highest sales total for any auction house in history. Christie's top ten sales of the year included the cushion-cut "Princie" diamond, which weighs more than 34.6 carats and sold for $39.3 million in April in New York -- the most a diamond has ever sold at U.S. auction.
