"Cloud is going through the roof for us." That's a statement from Doug Merritt, one of my absolute favorite CEOs, the Splunk (SPLK) boss, with a company that improves efficiency of web use and makes working from home more valuable. Splunk, a premier analytics company, was one of three businesses which reported last night that can actually make a forecast despite Covid-19, or maybe because of Covid-19, and the work from home movement.
Palo Alto Networks (PANW) with a model that protects and defends against on premise and off premise. Nikesh Arora is also seeing business through the roof because of Covid-19. I have been a huge fan of CrowdStrike (CRWD) and Zscaler (ZS) because of their emphasis of cloud security. Palo Alto is back being the gold standard, though, because it works in all places that people access the cloud. Smart agglomeration of companies there.
Finally, Nvidia's (NVDA) business is not constrained at all by Covid-19. In fact, it's graphical user interface cards are being used not just by gamers, but by Oxford University in its human tests for a vaccine. Nvidia, an Action Alerts PLUS name, has semiconductors that are now on a different plain from every other company, ones that can be used, among many tasks, to develop an "Accelerating Computational Defense System." Jensen Huang outdid himself last night in his excitement for the next gen chips that have already been adopted by everyone that needs speed to figure out what you might want that you don't know to how to beat covid by outsmarting it. Demand?
Not a problem.
Three companies for the moment. Three companies that thrive when so many others are faltering.
