What Should Investors Be Watching? Vimeo

Here's why VMEO, which posts earnings tonight, could stage a rally in the near-term.

Stocks quotes in this article: VMEO

Video-sharing website Vimeo Inc. (VMEO)  reports quarterly numbers after the close of trading Monday. Let's check out the charts and indicators.

In this daily bar chart of VMEO, below, I see a mixed chart. Prices are in a downward trend and trade below the flat 50-day moving average line and below the declining 200-day line.

The trading volume has been more active since September. The On-Balance-Volume (OBV) line has made a decline into late December followed by a bounce. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) oscillator has crossed to the downside, but looks like it is still above the zero line for now.

In this weekly Japanese candlestick chart of VMEO, below, I see a chart that is poised for a recovery bounce. Prices are below the 40-week moving average line. The weekly OBV line has been bottoming since October. The 12-week price momentum study in the lower panel shows slowing downside momentum for several months. This could foreshadow a rally in price.

In this daily Point and Figure chart of VMEO, below, I can see an upside price target in the $8 area.

Bottom line strategy: I have no special knowledge of what VMEO could tell shareholders after the close of trading Monday, but the charts suggest the next move could be higher.
