A caller during Jim Cramer's Lightning Round asked about Tellurian Inc. (TELL) . Jim said, "I'm a believer in (Tellurian Chairman) Charif Souki." I am a believer at looking at the charts and indicators.
In this daily bar chart of TELL, below, we can see a generally bearish trend. Prices make lower lows into March but a retest in August fails to make a new low. But, we can see lower highs being made the past twelve months. Prices have crisscrossed the declining 200-day moving average line and TELL is currently below that indicator. The daily On-Balance-Volume (OBV) line declines for much of the year telling us that sellers of TELL have been more aggressive. From late August to the end of October the volume pattern suggests some heavy liquidation. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) oscillator has just moved below the zero line for an outright sell signal.
In this weekly bar chart of TELL, below we can see a decline from early 2017. Prices are below the declining 40-week moving average line. The weekly OBV line is mostly pointed down and the MACD oscillator is below the zero line.
In this Point and Figure chart, below, we can see a bearish price target of $1.50. Ouch.
Bottom line strategy: TELL needs to do a lot of base building in the months ahead, otherwise further declines are possible.
