Let's check out what the charts and technical for the market's key indexes are showing us this Monday.
First, all of the main indexes closed lower on Friday, with negative internals for the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq. While no support levels were violated, some 50-day moving averages were violated to the downside.
For example, here's a look at the S&P 500, which closed back below a 50-day moving average that it had had reclaimed Thursday:
Ditto with the Nasdaq Composite:
In general, all of the indexes remain in sideways/neutral trends. The data remain neutral as well. As such, I have yet to see enough evidence to alter my current near term "Neutral" outlook for the major equity indexes.
