In the daily bar chart of JWN, below, we can see a small lopsided double-top formation back in September and November. Prices were more than cut in half. JWN continues to trade below the declining 50-day moving average line as well as the 200-day line.
The daily On-Balance-Volume (OBV) line has been following prices lower since September and reinforcing the idea that sellers of JWN have been more aggressive with heavier trading volume being observed on days when the stock has closed lower.
The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) oscillator has been below the zero line since November.
In the weekly bar chart of JWN, below, we can see the price action back to 2014. Prices have broken the early 2016 lows. JWN is below the declining 40-week moving average line.
The weekly OBV line is bearish and the MACD oscillator too.
In this Point and Figure chart of JWN, below, we can see a major distribution pattern (selling) with very little chart support below the market looking at the small volume by price bars on the left scale. No price targets are projected but I would be prepared for further declines.
Bottom-line strategy: JWN has been struggling in retail and on the charts. Be prepared for further declines.
