U.S. futures are falling sharply ahead of Tuesday's market open, but whether the markets can hold on to those gains remains to be seen.
Dow futures were rising 0.54%, indicating an open 132 points higher, while S&P futures rose 0.64%, indicating an open 17 points higher, and Nasdaq futures were rising 0.68%, indicating an open 46 points higher.
In Asia, the Nikkei rose 1.45%, the Shanghai Composite gained 1.02%, and the Hang Seng fell 0.91%.
In Europe, the FTSE 100 was gaining 0.35%, the DAX rose 0.02%, and the CAC 40 was flat with about four hours left in trading Tuesday.
