Cramer: Unclog the Tech Takeovers!

Some of these companies are begging to be acquired.

Stocks quotes in this article: AVGO, BRCD, QCOM, NXPI, INTC, MBLY, LRCX, KLAC, ADI, SWKS, QRVO, MU, TXN, CY, MRVL, XLNX, NVDA

You know what we need? Some tech takeovers. There are so many darned companies in the food chain that we can't keep up with them.

But it seems that everyone's jammed. For example, right now the greatest acquirer in the tech world is none other than Broadcom (AVGO) but it has been boxed into corner trying to get this Brocade Communications (BRCD) deal done. Broadcom -- a holding in may charitable trust, Action Alerts PLUS -- had been the great consolidator, trying to get some scale that would make it so it could be a huge factor when it came to anyone doing any communications of any kind.

Now, it's just on hold.

There's Qualcomm (QCOM) trying to buy NXP Semiconductors (NXPI) . Talk about stalled, though. Qualcomm wants the company for $110. Its stock sells for $116.90. That's because NXP sold itself when the cohort was down on its luck. Now we are telling Action Alerts PLUS subscribers not to tender because we think a higher bid is coming. Nothing's been happening tough. Nothing at all.

Intel's (INTC) done its buying. It snapped up Mobileye (MBLY) and doesn't seem to need anything else for the moment.

Lam Research (LRCX) tried to buy KLA Tencor (KLAC) a year ago and the government nixed it. The company, which had been a terrific acquirer seems to have been chastened by the experience.

Analog Devices (ADI) bought Linear Tech and that proved to be a fantastic deal but they don't need to do anything else for now.

I wish Skyworks Solutions (SWKS) would do a deal for more scale but its array of products makes it so it doesn't really need to. Same with Qorvo (QRVO) , which is a very inexpensive stock.

I don't expect Micron Technology (MU) to do anything either. Texas Instruments (TXN) seems thrilled to just keep buying back its own shares.

Some of these companies are begging to be acquired if you ask me. Cypress Semiconductor (CY) and Marvell Technology (MRVL) could use homes of bigger size. Same with Xilinx (XLNX) .

Nvidia (NVDA) doesn't need to do a thing.

But nothing's happening.

So we wait, and wait and wait.

And wait some more.

Broadcom, NXP Semi and Nvidia is a holding in Jim Cramer's Action Alerts PLUS Charitable Trust Portfolio. Want to be alerted before Cramer buys or sells AVGO, NXPI and NVDA? Learn more now.
