We won't have to wait long. VFC reports next week.
But these are stocks that have almost always told the truth, meaning they go up for a reason.
What really could be going on? First, remember these companies have very big European businesses. VFC and PVH are more than 30% Europe. Nike's (NKE) only 18%, but that's OK because it has an incredibly strong business in China.
Could it be back-to-school? It is entirely possible that the inventories of the retailers are very low. They have all been conditioned that things are bad, so perhaps they have to reorder.
Or have they just gotten too cheap and people are starting to distinguish them vs. traditional bricks-and-mortar because they have all adapted to the internet sales channels, especially Nike.
No matter, the trend is clear, and with this group, the trend is your friend.
