Cerner (CERN) has been slowly improving on the charts the past seven to eight months. I am warming up to it.
In this daily chart of CERN, above, we can see that prices are now above the rising 50-day moving average line and above the still declining 200-day line.
The On-Balance-Volume (OBV) line has moved up and down modestly with the price action in recent months but a sustained move up would be more desirable. Momentum is positive and not diverging from the price action.
In this three-year weekly chart, above, the picture is improving but some more positive signals would not hurt. Prices are above the 40-week moving average line but it is still pointed down. The OBV line on a weekly time frame has moved up the past three months, which is more constructive than the daily OBV line.
The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) has been moving up but has not yet crossed above the zero line for an outright buy signal.
Bottom line: Traders should probe the long side of CERN here risking below $57. Consider additional longs on strength.
