Lots of exhaustion setting in to the point where there is zero pin action off of any of the positives.
I think we are back to expecting something bad over the weekend, something bad geopolitically or from China, and there's a better chance to buy at the opening Monday.
I don't know about you, but I am beginning to think that this is the moment where you have to spend time thinking about the weather. We are almost in the spring-planting season: I know I would be going shopping at Home Depot (HD) if it were warm.
When I look at the earnings reports of late, I see three that tell me something: Stanley Black & Decker (SWK), Sherwin-Williams (SHW) and Owens Corning (OC). They tell me that people are doing repairs, that they are fixing up their homes and that they are beginning to spend more renovating and sprucing up than in ages.
All that's missing is another weekend of warm weather.
If we get it, believe me, there will be analysts all over Lowe's (LOW) and Home Depot, saying these two laggards are ready to go. I would get ahead of them.
