John Dorfman is the founder and chairman of Thunderstorm Capital, a money-management firm in Boston. His writings on value investing have appeared over the years in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and more than a dozen newspapers. He is the author of Family Investment Guide and The Stock Market Directory, among other books. 
Dorfman was born in Chicago in 1947 and graduated from Princeton University with honors in 1969. From 1986 to 1997 he was a senior special writer for The Wall Street Journal. From 1997 to 2002 he was an analyst, portfolio manager and managing director for Dreman Value Management. He founded Thunderstorm Capital in 1999.
