We discussed my dividend rotation strategy, and some upcoming dividend capture trades earlier today, but I also want to point out some other good income vehicles that our readers can utilize. One somewhat obscure yet attractive asset class is closed-end funds (CEFs). Closed-end funds are similar to their open-end brethren, except they trade on an exchange. To buy or redeem, you trade the shares of the fund. Because of this, a fund's capital is essentially permanent. There are CEFs that have traded for literally decades. Although income is not a requirement, almost all investors buy closed-end funds because they pay a distribution, and often a very attractive yield.
