there is an amazing amount of talk about high gas prices but this market just doesn't care yet.

Easy monetary policy is flowing into the market, but gas prices rising are signs of the dollar deflating as oil, dominated in dollars, rises. So the market doesn't care, should we say yet? I'm having this over-whelming feeling now to be in cash, do you get those? So even though I still have some longs like HOT, so I've moved to slightly net short including TZA and SDS.

yes i know exactly what you mean about the overwhelming feeling to be in cash. For me its more a function of not finding charts i can really load up. I dink around and do some trades but i just can't build positions.

Still more anxious talk of TWM FAZ TZA SDS TVIX VXX vs. cheerleading of 13K ... this is one of the most anticipated corrections ever ... I gained bearish exposure too early via some of these short ETFs ... sticking with the uptrend is such a simple axiom to say vs. actually practice.

I don't disagree, sticking with an uptrend is hard. But I'm not interested in being the last bag holder either.

you can't short this market into strength. That is all you need to know. If you want to short you have to wait for weakness.

I guess you also have to determine if you're outright shorting or just doing short term hedging of your holdings (because you are reluctant to sell)

Agree Ultra, this is primarily hedging for me because I am reluctant to sell some good longs.
